Kingsford – Wedding vows were exchanged between Carla Jean Ziehm and James Donald Estes in a 3 p.m. ceremony held Oct. 8 at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donald King officiating. The bride is the daughter of Esther Cram of Kingsford and Albino Ziehm of Iron Mountain. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Estes of Kingsford.

The bride, given in marriage by her father appeared in a dress worn in 1978 by Janet Treiber, sister of the groom. The Empire Bishop sheer gown featured chantilly lace flowing from a Queen Anne bodice. Seed pearling in the sheer organza over taffeta skirt extended to a chapel length train. She chose a veil with matching lace and seed pearling to complete the look. She carried a silk bouquet of mauve roses and white carnations.

Kelly Loar of Iron Mountain, served her step-sister as maid of honor. She appeared in a wine colored full-length gown featuring a portrait neckline, empire waist, accordion pleats, and a lace coverlet. Her flowers consisted of 3 long-stemmed mauve roses.

All flowers were arranged by the bride and by Laurie Estes, sister-in-law of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Kathy Estes, sister of the groom of Kingsford and Beth Raatz, cousin of the bride of Kingsford. The ensembles were identical to the maid of honors.

Mark Sanderson of Kingsford served his friend and best man. Groomsmen were Ken Estes, brother of the groom of Marquette and Darryl Ziehm, brother of the bride of Kingsford.

Music for the wedding was provided by Ken Westman, who played the violin accompanied by his mother, Linda Westman, both of Quinnesec. The soloist was Liz Daugherty of Kingsford.

The bride is a 1982 graduate of Kingsford High School and is employed as an activity aide at Hyland Nursing Home.

The groom is a 1980 graduate of Kingsford High School and is employed as a truck driver for Martens Manufacturing.

The couple will reside in Kingsford, pending the groom’s entry into the United States Army.
